About this event
Come join friends for a night of remembrance — and fundraising.
There will be free food, a cash bar, some tears and laughs — and did we mention fundraising? Proceeds will support Phawker in perpetuity and a scholarship in Jonathan’s name at Moravian College, where he started building his considerable literary chops.
Tickets are $50 each and must be purchased by November 4th so we know how much food to provide. The good news is you can give more after you arrive. No tickets will be sold at the door — click the “Buy Your Ticket” button now to register and pay.
There will also be an open mic should anyone want to share a memory, tell some jokes — or sing. Mimes, however, are strictly prohibited.
If anyone doesn’t know, Jonathan Valania was a leading voice in Philadelphia journalism, music and the arts. A great friend and partner. A legendary hang. He was taken from us too soon but we have the opportunity to preserve and add to the many gifts he left behind.
