Halloween Happy Hour - with pumpkin carving!

Please join the Pen & Pencil for a Halloween happy hour and membership drive Wednesday, October 27th from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Catch up with fellow members, bring along a perspective member and re-acquaint yourself with the club over drinks. Our new kitchen - the Inkwell Grill - will be open and serving up a delicious selection of empanadas, sandwiches and soup.

We'll have renowned sculptor Roger Wing carving up some pumpkins to benefit the club!

All members welcome and please bring prospective members (up to four per member). Remember we require proof of vaccination. This is a free event but please register.

More about Roger: Philadelphia sculptor Roger Wing creates human and animal figures, some larger than life, from single blocks of wood. His 14 foot tall carved maple portrait of Rev. George Duffield stands above the Revolutionary troops buried at Old Pine Presbyterian. Wing’s numerous tree carvings can be spotted throughout the Philly suburbs. His smaller studio carvings in wood and stone have been featured in group shows and commissioned for private homes.

For more than 20 years Wing has also travelled the globe competing in sculpture exhibitions in other materials such as ice, snow, sand, and butter. In early 2020 Wing spent five weeks in China, sculpted in four ice carving competitions, and won three medals, bronze, silver and gold. Recently Wing’s carved pumpkins graced City Hall’s Dilworth Plaza and were featured on PHL 17.
