About this event
Join 43cc podcast hosts ,Wendy Dean, MD and Matt Ramsey, MD, for a live recording on Sunday, October 25 at 6:00pm. Doors at 5:30pm. They’ll be joined by guest, Wendell Potter, a former health insurance executive turned whistleblower, to talk about "Why the Midterms Matter" for healthcare issues.
43cc, hosted by Wendy Dean, MD and Matt Ramsey, MD, is an award-winning, incisive, and irreverent look at how medicine’s machinery is tearing patients and clinicians apart, and what we might do to stitch them back together again.
The 43cc team may be doctors, but they - and their producer - come with journalistic credibility. The team has a half dozen awards for their episodes (Signal, Anthem, Webby, and an Association of Health Care Journalists nods), and Dr. Dean's 2023 book, If I Betray These Words, earned a Kirkus starred review. They've lost track of how much hardware Jill Ruby, their [lovely] producer, has collected; it's a lot.
Their guest, Wendell Potter, started his career as a journalist for Scripps-Howard Newspapers in Memphis, Nashville, and finally Washington, D.C., where he covered Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court. After years as a corporate health insurance executive, he blew the whistle on them and returned to his journalistic roots. He is a NYT best-selling author of Deadly Spin, and his Healthcare Un-Covered Substack has a large and loyal following.
