Philadelphia-based documentary filmmaker Yoni Brook, part of the team behind the PBS series Philly DA, will screen his most recent film, the Oscar-shortlisted documentary Holding Liat. After the screening, we'll talk about the movie and how Brook and his team navigated gaining access and making a film the Hollywood Reporter called “politically potent and emotionally gripping" and the Washington Post named one of the 10 best films of last year.

The film unfolds in the weeks after Israeli-American Liat Atzili's kidnapping, her father Yehuda begins a mission to secure his daughter’s release while refusing to let her captivity be used to justify violence in Gaza. His efforts reveal rifts within the family, as each generation grapples with their fracturing emotional and political perspectives.
